Officers must have several years of full-time experience as well as numerous training hours and educational attainment to obtain this honor. The certificate is the highest professional law enforcement award given by the State.

Officer Savage is a 14-year law enforcement veteran who began her career with the City of Youngsville as a patrol officer, then went on to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office where she worked Patrol, Crime Scenes, and as a Detective with the Child/Sex Abuse and Domestic Violence unit. After that, she moved to Bunn Police Department working as a School Resource Officer (SRO) before coming to NC State Capitol Police in 2015.
