Grant Writing Workshops
The Governor’s Crime Commission (GCC) Grant Writing Workshops provide non-profit and governmental agencies with information on the various types of grant funding available. GCC staff will review the funding priorities established by GCC Commissioners, eligibility requirements, supporting documentation required, as well as, how to submit an application in the Grant Enterprise Management System (GEMS).

NOTE: No priorities will be presented for the Criminal Justice Improvement Committee (i.e. Byrne JAG Award) because of the nationwide litigation that resulted in delays in administering the 2017 and 2018 grant awards. However, those interested in submitting a Byrne JAG grant application in the future are still encouraged to attend.

Grant Award Workshops
The GCC Grant Award Workshops provide instruction for those agencies that have been approved for funding beginning Oct. 1, 2018. GCC staff will provide basic instruction on the steps needed to start the project and submit reimbursements, budget adjustments and mandatory reports.

The Grant Award Workshop is mandatory for first time grant recipients. It is no longer mandatory for all subrecipients. However, participation is strongly encouraged as the curriculum has been expanded.
