Come take a stroll with State Highway Patrol Sat., Sept. 26
Proceeds benefit Mothers Against Drunk Driving
Not everyone can say they've run shoulder-to-shoulder around the Highway Patrol's driving track with some of North Carolina's finest lawmen. It's a unique experience and a great way for you and your family to spend a Saturday morning while helping a good cause.
If you're not a runner, you can walk the three miles – or just go one mile. There are races for children, too. Everyone has a good time, regardless of age or ability.
Team awards are available for law enforcement officers and the military.
The race starts and finishes at the Highway Patrol's Training Academy, 3318 Garner Road, Raleigh. For those who pre-register, the entry fee is $30 for the 5K, $20 for the mile run and $5 for the Kids' MADD Dash.
The fastest runners in 16 categories receive an award from the commander of the State Highway Patrol, Colonel Bill Grey. Everyone gets a goody bag, a t-shirt and lunch.
The fun begins at 8:30 a.m. Come meet your state troopers and help the Highway Patrol raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving.
