The N.C. Center for Safer Schools, housed in the N.C. Department of Public Safety, serves as the state's primary point of contact on issues dealing with school safety and the prevention of youth violence.
The Center for Safer Schools provides a one-stop shop of school safety information and customer services to schools, law enforcement, youth-serving agencies, juvenile justice officials, community leaders, policymakers, parents and students.
The Center for Safer Schools led Safer Schools forums in eight North Carolina communities in April and May, to learn about local concerns and challenges related to school safety. Video feeds from these forums are available on the DPS Livestream Page .
