Probation and parole officers supervise offenders' activities in the community and ensure their compliance with court orders and sanctions.
New officers are trained in the legal system, officer-offender relations (including behavior, counseling, crisis intervention, offender supervision and motivational interviewing), offender management, preparation for court participation, drug identification, handgun safety, defensive protection, personal conduct and more.
