North Carolina's Statewide Enhanced Hazard Mitigation Plan was adopted in February 2018.

The North Carolina Emergency Operations Plan (NCEOP) establishes a framework of policy and guidance for worst-case emergency management operations. The plan institutes responsibilities for state departments, private volunteer organizations, and private non-profit organizations that compose the State Emergency Response Team (SERT). The NCEOP is intended in all instances to be consistent with the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
