Notification - Out-of-State Transfers

Interstate Compact Transfers

In Interstate Compact cases where a convicted offender requests to be sent to our supervised in a different state, the "sending state" (state in which the offender was convicted) is responsible for notifying the victim of the IC transfer.  However, the "receiving state" (to where the offender is transferred) is responsible for notifying:

  • the sending state if the offender commits a significant violation
  • changes addresses
  • returns to the sending state where the victim resides
  • departs to another state, or
  • is issued a temporary travel permit where supervision of the offender has been designated a victim-sensitive matter

Interstate Compact Rule 3.108 - regarding victim notification.

Access the free, confidential offender tracking services provided by the Interstate Compact Offender Tracking System (ICOTS).

Additional information about the Interstate Compact, ICOTS and related victim information and notification services is available from the Interstate Commission for Adult Offender Supervision.
