FY 2020-2021 Intensive Intervention Services (specific to Wake County)

The Department of Public Safety, Division of Adult Corrections and Juvenile Justice, Community Programs Section (hereafter, Division) ensures that every community in North Carolina has access to a continuum of services for its juvenile population. With the new Raise the Age Legislation in effect an increasingly important piece of the continuum in Juvenile Justice is the intensive intervention services. Intensive intervention services are evidence-based or research-supported community-based or residential services that are necessary for a juvenile in order to (i) prevent the juvenile's commitment to a youth development center or detention facility or (ii) facilitate the juvenile's successful return to the community following commitment.

The Juvenile Community Programs Section is releasing this RFP to address a specific need in Wake County. This RFP posting is specifically for Wake County only. Wake County needs additional services in the continuum to address the detention center numbers under the Raise the Age Legislation.

The term of this Request for Proposal is for one year from date of contract award.  All Request for Proposals applications and required materials must be submitted per RFP instructions by 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 24, 2020.

Q&A

  • I wanted to inquire if the below RFP is more geared towards a residential program, day treatment type program or community based program and if there was any word on budget for the project?

The RFP is specifically for Wake County and the services needed for lowering detention numbers or YDC placement of the Raise the Age population. Vendors should submit a budget that aligns with the proposed service in their response.  Be sure to reference awards granted in previous fiscal years by the department under the Alternatives to Commitment and Level II Endorsed funds to guide you on budget amount.

  • Can you advise what Funding Source should be selected on NC ALLIES when creating the Program Application for the Intensive Intervention Services RFP (due August 24th)?
Please mark the funding source as Alternatives to Commitment Funding
