The State Emergency Response Team has activated its Joint Information Center to respond to news media inquiries and provide coordinated information to the news media regarding the state’s preparation for and response to Hurricane Irma.
The Joint Information Center can be reached via phone at 919-825-2599 and via email at pio@ncem.org. It will be operating Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and in 24-hour operation beginning at 7 a.m. Sunday.
Online information regarding Hurricane Irma is being provided at ncdps.gov/irma.
News conferences with Gov. Roy Cooper and other officials from the State Emergency Operations Center will be streamed live at ncdps.gov/briefing-hurricane-update when they occur.
