What: The North Carolina National Guard’s Education and Employment Center is hosting a 2-day career workshop for NCNG Soldiers and Airmen, other veterans and/or their eligible family seeking jobs.

N.C. Guard Hosts Employment Workshop

The North Carolina National Guard's Education and Employment Center to host Veteran Career Days, a job readiness workshop and employer networking event, at NCNG Headquarters, scheduled for May. 07 - 08.

Local human resource professionals will coach participants on education, job search and interview skills Wednesday. Thursday, local veteran friendly employers with open positions will meet with interested Soldiers, Airmen, other veterans, and eligible family members.

Wednesday's job search workshop is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with training on education funding, job searches, resume and cover letter techniques and a question and answer session about the employment process. The coaches are volunteers from local employers.

Thursday's employer sit-downs are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in 20-minute blocks per participant. The effort is part of the NCNG's ongoing efforts to support our Soldiers, Airmen and families employment opportunities in the civilian sector. The Education and Employment Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the week. Since beginning operations in July 2013, the NCNG Education and Employment Center has assisted in securing over 350 jobs for Guardsmen and veterans.

Among the thirty-five confirmed veteran friendly employers for Thursday are Allied Barton, Manpower, Duke University Human Resources, Wells Fargo and Blue Cross, Blue Shield of North Carolina.
