Juvenile dies from apparent suicide

A juvenile committed through the juvenile justice system to the custody of the Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice and housed at Mecklenburg Jail North Juvenile Detention Center has died from an apparent suicide.

Monroe – The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice reports a juvenile who ran away from the Union County Multi-Purpose Group home in Monroe has been apprehended.

First youth tests positive for COVID-19 in state Juvenile Justice facility

A juvenile housed at Pitt Juvenile Detention Center in Greenville has tested positive for the coronavirus. This is the first positive test for COVID-19 of a juvenile being held in a secure custody facility operated by the state Juvenile Justice section of the Department of Public Safety. 

Escaped Juvenile Back in Secure Custody

The juvenile identified as Jericho W. who escaped Tuesday afternoon in Robeson County, is now back in secure custody in a juvenile facility.
