State Highway Patrol Conducts 2021 “Operation Stop Arm”

In support of Operation Stop Arm week, the State Highway Patrol will be aggressively enforcing stop arm and other traffic violations in and around school zones and school bus stops. The operation will run daily from 6:00 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 18 through 5:00 p.m.

State Highway Patrol Names New Lieutenant Colonel

The State Highway Patrol is extremely proud to announce the promotion of Maj. Daryl B. Conley to the rank of lieutenant colonel effective Aug. 9.  Lt. Col. Conley will be assuming this role soon to be vacated by Lt. Col. Donna Carter who has announced her retirement effective Sept. 1. 

SHP to Focus on Traffic Safety During Holiday Weekend

As traffic is expected to increase this July Fourth weekend, so will the State Highway Patrol’s focus on traffic safety. The AAA organization estimates that more than 43 million travelers will take to the roadways this holiday weekend, which is a record number for July Fourth travel.
