SHP Announces 2021 Operation Drive To Live

With many schools kicking off spring break, and in conjunction with national Distracted Driving Awareness Month, the State Highway Patrol is once again conducting Operation Drive to Live. This annual campaign is aimed at reducing collisions involving teen drivers on our roadways.

State Highway Patrol Commander Announces Retirement

The North Carolina Department of Public Safety today announced the retirement of Colonel Glenn M. McNeill, Jr. State Highway Patrol commander. Colonel McNeill has served as the 27th commander since his appointment by Governor Roy Cooper on Feb. 2, 2017.
 

SHP Celebrates Newly Promoted Members

The State Highway Patrol recognized the promotions of 51 sworn and 5 civilian members today during a private ceremony held at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary. The event was conducted in celebration of those who received a promotion throughout the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021. 

NC Guard support during the 59th Presidential Inauguration

The NC National Guard deployed over 300 Soldiers and Airmen to support the 59th Presidential Inauguration. A security force of 300 personnel, members from the 42nd Civil Support Team (CBRN-WMD), and 10 personnel that operated a JISCC (Joint Incident Site Communications Capability).
