The first quarter of 2026 showcased the resilience, growth and momentum of Samarcand Training Academy’s campus community. Despite facing severe weather events, including ice storms, snowstorms and statewide tornado threats, everyone turned challenges into opportunities by strengthening campus safety protocols. Through thorough policy reviews and hands-on severe weather drills, the team enhanced preparedness and reinforced our commitment to a safe and secure environment for all.
Campus Improvements
- Completed comfort and audio enhancements to the auditorium.
- Began renovations to two buildings to relocate Customer Relations and Housekeeping near the campus entrance.
- Continued construction of the new parking lot near Academic B building, which is 60% complete.
- Continued landscape upgrades across the grounds.
Events
- Four basic training academies graduated (three JJDP and one probation/parole)
- Hosted second annual Human Trafficking Symposium
- Hosted Counter Sex Trafficking – Advanced Human Trafficking Course
- More than 200 law enforcement, medical staff and specialists from central North Carolina attended workshops focused on the prevention of human and sex trafficking.
- Topics included: building trust with survivors, strengthening trafficking response teams, victim protection strategies and how to utilize technology to prevent trafficking.
