The NCDPS high school internship is a structured work experience program designed for high school students to gain hands-on exposure to public safety careers. The internships are part-time and are either paid or unpaid.
The primary goal of the high school internship is to provide students with practical experience in a real-world setting. Interns typically work alongside professionals in the field, learning about daily operations, tasks and industry-specific tools or technologies. Interns may assist with projects, attend meetings and participate in training sessions.
Interns will be paired with a supervisor who provides guidance and feedback throughout the internship. This individual will help the student navigate the work environment, answer questions and offer advice on career development.
Requirements
- A senior in good academic standing with a 2.5 GPA.
