Purpose: The Racial and Ethnic Disparities Subcommittee sits within the Governor's Crime Commission's Juvenile Justice Planning Committee. Its members are juvenile justice partners and educators who advise efforts to reduce racial and ethnic disparities in the juvenile justice system. Establishment of the R/ED Subcommittee supports efforts to maintain compliance with the R/ED core requirement found at 34 U.S.C. §11133(a)(15).

Meeting of the Criminal Justice Improvement Committee, which focuses on reducing and discouraging violent crime; enhancing all aspects of criminal justice processing; and advancing justice system operations. The committee administers federal grants including the Community Violence Intervention and Prevention Program, the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant, Project Safe Neighborhood and the State Crisis Intervention Program.
