CLEVELAND COUNTY TEEN COURT : CLEVELAND COUNTY TEEN COURT

Location: Shelby, Cleveland County, NC

Oversight: This program receives funding and/or oversight by DPS.

Length of service: 4 to 6 months

Teen Court is a restorative alternative to Juvenile Court. Juveniles ages 11-18 or or otherwise under jurisdiction of and referred by Juvenile Court Services are held accountable for their offense which redirects inappropriate behavior. The program gives youth an opportunity to serve their sentence, start fresh, and hopefully to not re-offend. This also allows youth, parents, peer and community members to have the opportunity to interact together in a more positive manner.
