Chief Information Officer

Mick joined the North Carolina Department of Public Safety in January 2026.

In this role, Mick oversees the department’s information technology strategy, cybersecurity efforts and digital innovation initiatives, helping ensure systems are secure, reliable and positioned to support DPS’ mission now and in the future.

He brings more than 25 years of experience leading digital transformation and enterprise information technology strategies in government, healthcare and higher education.

Most recently, Mick served as Senior Director of Enterprise Operations for the North Carolina Department of Information Technology, where he led efforts related to statewide information technology infrastructure, systems modernization, enterprise applications and cross-agency collaboration.

Mick holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of New Hampshire, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Science degree from the University of Bridgeport.
