NCDPS is hosting a FREE instructional session for law enforcement and first responder agencies to learn best practices on interacting with the growing number of North Carolinians on the autism spectrum (e.g. 1 among 54 children in the state has autism). The goal of Helping Enhance Autism Response Training or HEART is to further safe contacts among law enforcement, first responders and individuals with autism.

Parking for this event is located at 971 Reynolds Dr, Wilmington, NC 28403. There are two entrances to the parking deck, and attendees should enter via the righthand side entrance. Overflow parking is located in the visitor lot at 5000 Riegel Rd., Wilmington, NC 28403.
