Driver Flees From State Highway Patrol; Suspect Vehicle Identified as Stolen

A preliminary investigation has revealed that on Tuesday, March 01, 2016 at approximately 9:55 a.m., a white 2016 Dodge Charger was observed by a trooper with the State Highway Patrol traveling 82 mph in a 65 mph zone on I-85 inside Vance County.   The trooper activated his blue lights and siren, stopping the suspect vehicle.  After a brief conversation, the suspect fled, traveling south on I-85.  A pursuit was initiated, continuing into Wake County.  The suspect entered into a Food Lion parking lot near Capital Blvd. where troopers successfully performed a precision immobilization technique (P.I.T.) maneuver, stopping the suspect’s vehicle.                         

The suspect, identified as  Darryl Aaron White, 23, of 1320 Vickers Ave Durham, N.C., was taken into custody without further incident.  Charges from the incident will be provided in a forthcoming press release.
