The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has granted North Carolina’s request to extend its non-congregate sheltering program for COVID-19 through June 6.

The White House and FEMA have granted Governor Roy Cooper’s April 9 request for a federal disaster declaration for eighteen counties that suffered damages from severe storms, flooding and tornadoes in February.

Offender Christian Rodriguez (#1289662) died Thursday morning at Pasquotank Correctional Institution after an apparent suicide. He was found unresponsive in his cell at 1:09 a.m.
