North Carolina residents who suffered losses and damage as a result of Hurricane Matthew can now get information about state and federal assistance at Disaster Recovery Centers in Hoke and Tyrrell counties opening October 27.

Correctional staff with the assistance of law enforcement evacuated a portion of Neuse Correctional Institution this morning following a disturbance that started late Sunday afternoon.
