Department of Public Safety Looks Back at 2014

The N.C. Department of Public Safety improved delivery of services, met or exceeded goals in many areas and made the public in North Carolina safer than ever.

By each division of DPS, you can find a brief review of the agency’s achievements and milestones at the links below. Take a look, in case you missed something during 2014.

Administration was at the forefront in consolidation of services and strengthening collaborative partnerships internally and externally to help prevent and solve crimes, to strengthen emergency management services, and to streamline agency operations.

Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice closed out the year at full speed with several major events.

Law Enforcement saw the move of Alcohol Law Enforcement to the State Bureau of Investigation and restoration of funding for 13 special ALE agents.

North Carolina Emergency Management marked impressive responses, expanded its use of technology and improved preparedness.

The North Carolina National Guard continues to be a trusted military force at home. Throughout 2014, the NCNG participated in and led several events in support of state and federal agencies as well as fostering strong, enduring relationships with local partners from N.C. Emergency Management.
