Pazuzu Algarad, 36, a pre-trial inmate facing murder charges in Forsyth County, was found unresponsive in his Central Prison cell during a regular count shortly after 3 a.m. today.
Correctional officers and prison medical staff responded and the inmate was rushed to Central Prison’s Medical Center. Doctors and medical staff were unable to revive him and he was pronounced dead at about 4:20 a.m.
The State Capitol Police Department is conducting an investigation, assisted by the City-County Bureau of Identification.
