Veteran State Capitol Police Officer Promoted to Sergeant

The State Capitol Police are pleased to announce the promotion of Officer George (Ricky) Tucker to the rank of Sergeant.  The promotion was effective February 1, 2017. 

Sergeant Tucker has served for 13 years with the State Capitol Police, most recently serving as the Training Officer for the agency.  During his more than 30-year career in local and state law enforcement, he has served in supervisory positions including as a municipal police chief.  He holds an Advanced Law Enforcement Officer certification, is a criminal justice instructor, and is a crime prevention specialist.

Chief Glen Allen said “Sergeant is one of the most important roles in our organization.  They are supervisors for our personnel and implement the policies and procedures of the Department of Public Safety for the State Capitol Police Section.  I’m confident that Sergeant Tucker will be successful in his new post.”
