Riddick-Taylor Named Superintendent at Tyrrell Prison Work Farm

The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice has named Caroline Riddick-Taylor as the new superintendent at Tyrrell Prison Work Farm in Columbia. Riddick-Taylor replaces Fentress Bryant, who retired.

Riddick-Taylor has been with the Division of Prisons for 23 years, starting as a correctional officer at the North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women in Raleigh in 1995. She moved to Pasquotank Correctional Institution, where she served as a correctional sergeant and case manager.

She moved to Bertie Correctional Institution in 2005, where she was the facility classification coordinator for eight years. Since 2013, Riddick-Taylor was the assistant superintendent for programs before her promotion to Tyrrell Prison Work Farm.

Riddick-Taylor is a graduate of Shaw University, earning bachelor’s degrees in criminal justice and behavioral science. She graduated from the DPS Correctional Leadership Development Program in 2014 and North Carolina State University’s Certified Public Managers Program.

Tyrrell Prison Work Farm currently houses approximately 630 male inmates in minimum custody.
