Gaston Correctional Center Inmate Miller Captured in Georgia

Gaston Correctional Center minimum custody inmate Montavious Miller (#0696992), who was reported missing from the facility on May 2, was captured in Chamblee, Ga. on June 12. Law enforcement officials returned Miller to North Carolina today, and he will be placed in a higher custody facility.

Miller was arrested by Chamblee (Ga.) police officers without incident in a Wal-Mart in Chamblee at approximately 8:20 p.m. on June 12. He was charged with shoplifting and giving false information to law enforcement officials. 

Miller will face those charges in Georgia once he completes his North Carolina sentence. Miller will face charges in North Carolina for his escape.

Miller, 34, was last seen at Gaston CC at 7:30 p.m. on May 2 and reported missing at 9 p.m. He was serving a 10-year, 8-month sentence as a habitual felon and was admitted to prison on Aug. 31, 2013. He was originally scheduled for release on Dec. 12, 2021.
