The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice has named Bruce Hodges the new director of the Robeson Confinement in Response to Violation (CRV) Center in Lumberton.
Hodges, 54, had been the assistant director of the Robeson CRV since January 2015. Prior to that, he was in Community Corrections as a chief probation/parole officer, probation/parole officer and general instructor in Wake County.
A 14-year employee, he participated in the Department’s Correctional Leadership Development Program. Hodges retired from U.S. Air Force 2004 after 21 years of service. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Mount Olive College and a master’s degree in criminal justice from New Mexico State University.
The CRV centers house and provide intensive behavior modification programs for those who have committed technical violations of probation. CRV centers incarcerate violators for 90-day periods in response to violations of probation, parole or post-release supervision as provided in the Justice Reinvestment Act of 2011.
The CRV centers utilize dormitory-style housing similar to a minimum-security prison. Probation officers and case managers work closely with offenders as they progress through treatment and programming, including cognitive behavioral therapy, substance abuse interventions, employment readiness and life skills training.
Robeson CRV houses approximately 180 male offenders.
