The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice has named William Glick as the new superintendent at Davidson Correctional Center in Lexington, a facility he once worked at as an assistant superintendent.
Glick, 50, has worked in five different facilities and had been the assistant superintendent for programs at Albemarle Correctional Institution in Badin since June 2014. He was responsible for the offender’s rehabilitation, which included program assignments, transitional, educational and vocational services at Albemarle Cl. He was also over the facility’s medical and dental departments. Prior to that, he worked as an assistant superintendent at two minimum custody facilities including Davidson, where he spent about three years prior to moving to Albemarle CI.
Glick started as a correctional officer in Oct. 1993 before being promoted to sergeant and correctional unit manager. In 2001 he became a certified general instructor for the Department and holds certifications for specialized fields of instructions such as Control Restraint and Defensive Tactics (CRDT), Straight Baton, and OC pepper spray. Glick is nationally-certified as a Monadnock Expandable Baton Instructor.
Glick holds a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice from Barber Scotia College and an associate degree in liberal arts from St. Leo’s University.
Davidson CC houses approximately 240 male inmates in minimum custody.
