Media Advisory: 2019 Operation Stop Arm Kick Off

What: The State Highway Patrol will hold a press event to kick off this year’s Operation Stop Arm school bus safety initiative. Representatives from the State Highway Patrol, the Department of Public Instruction and the Wake County Public School System will speak at this event.     

When: Monday, October 21, 2019, at 10 a.m.  
 
Where: Outside the Kerr Scott Building at the State Highway Patrol’s static display on the N.C. State Fairgrounds.  
 
Details: In support of Operation Stop Arm week, the State Highway Patrol will be aggressively enforcing stop arm violations and other traffic violations in and around school zones. The operation will be conducted from 6:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21, through 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25. The Patrol expects Operation Stop Arm will decrease violations and reduce school bus incidents involving children.
