The N.C. Department of Public Safety’s Office of Recovery and Resiliency (NCORR) and the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Coastal Management (DCM) will host the inaugural North Carolina Resilient Communities Funding Forum on Feb. 28 in Greenville. The day-long workshop aims to help the state’s eastern communities fund local projects that will increase resilience to impacts from future natural disasters. Training at the event will provide tools and strategies to obtain project funding and introduce potential funders.

The N.C. Resilient Communities Program includes two distinct agency-led programs: Regions Innovating for Strong Economies & Environment Program (RISE) led by NCORR, and the Resilient Coastal Communities Program, led by DCM. Both programs support the 2020 North Carolina Climate Risk Assessment and Resilience Plan to address the state’s vulnerability to climate change.
