Nearly 50 law enforcement officers and support staff from state, local and federal agencies joined forces this week for Operation Hide and Seek, an enforcement operation that served outstanding criminal warrants and conducted compliance checks on high risk and violent offenders on probation and parole in Montgomery County.
Operation Hide and Seek took place on Aug. 21-22 throughout the county. Teams completed 28 searches
The operation netted:
- 13 arrests;
- 30 probation absconders;
- 6 new gang investigations;
- 38 grams of cocaine;
- 72 grams of marijuana; and
- 4 firearms.
Participating agencies included the Department of Public Safety Community Corrections (Probation/Parole), NCDPS Special Operations, N.C. Information Sharing and Analysis Center (NC ISAAC), Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Mount Gilead Police Department, and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The operation was supported by canines and handlers from NCDPS.
