Disaster Case Management

Disaster Case Managers work with survivor families to understand their experience related to the disaster, identify assistance already received, and determine the remaining disaster-related needs. To contact the Disaster Case Management service provider, please email

Residents of Anson, Bladen, Brunswick, Chatham, Columbus, Cumberland, Durham, Guilford, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Moore, New Hanover, Orange, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson, Scotland and Union counties should call the Fayetteville office at (910) 672-6175.

Residents of Beaufort, Carteret, Craven, Duplin, Greene, Hyde, Jones, Lenoir, Onslow, Pamlico, Pender, Pitt, Wayne, and Wilson counties should call the Jacksonville office at (910) 378-4913.

Housing Help for Florence Survivors

  • Housing solutions are based on individual needs, how quickly homes can be repaired and other available housing in the community.
  • The Transitional Sheltering Assistance program moves people out of shelters into hotel rooms until a longer-term housing option is ready.
  • Rental assistance and grants for home repairs are available.
  • Travel trailers or mobile homes are intended for those whose home is uninhabitable and have no other practical options.

Survivors who do not qualify for federal assistance may still get help

  • Back@Home may help those who don't qualify or receive limited FEMA assistance and still need help with housing or other services.
  • Help may include: finding housing, rent and utility assistance, move-in supplies or other resources like job training and placement and child care.
