JACKSONVILLE
Jul 10, 2015

Two store clerks, one in Brunswick County and one in New Hanover County, face weapons charges today following separate investigations by North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement agents.

Chad Jeffrey Allen Vasos, 21, of Wilmington, is charged with carrying a concealed weapon at an establishment licensed by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission. Agents charged Vasos, an employee at Monkey Junction Pit Stop, 4902 Carolina Beach Road, Wilmington, on July 9.

That same day, agents were conducting an ABC inspection at Inman’s Country Store, 2116 Longwood Road, Longwood, (in Brunswick County), when they found a stolen Smith and Wesson 9 mm handgun behind the counter under the cash register. Inman Country Store employee Jean W. Brutus, 41, of Jacksonville, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a stolen firearm. He was taken to the Brunswick County Detention Center and is being held under a $5,000 bond.

Agents from ALE’s district office in Jacksonville will submit reports to the ABC Commission on both incidents.
