Department of Public Safety fugitive officers and canines captured escaped inmate Devin Brown shortly after 12 pm today in a wooded area in Landis NC, in Rowan County. Brown had escaped from the minimum security unit at Brown Creek Correctional Institution in Polkton about 12 hours earlier.

Inmate escapes from Brown Creek minimum security unit
POLKTON – Corrections and law enforcement officers are seeking inmate Devin Brown #1181458 who has escaped from the minimum security unit at Brown Creek Correctional Institution. Brown, 22, was serving about a five year sentence for habitual impaired driving and was scheduled for release in March 2019.
Anyone who has seen Brown or has information on his whereabouts is asked to call local law enforcement or Brown Creek Correctional Institution at 704-694-2622
