Highway Patrol and Wildlife Resources Commission Release July 4th Holiday Totals

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol along with the Division of Law Enforcement Wildlife Resources Commission released the totals for “On the Road, On the Water, Don’t Drink and Drive” campaign for the period of Friday, July 3rd through Sunday, July 5th.


On the Road, On the Water, Don’t Drink and Drive

campaign is a multi-agency initiative that is designed to combine law enforcement resources to ensure that all motorists can safely travel on highway and waterways during the summer months.

The totals are reflective of each agencies collaborative enforcement efforts:


State Highway Patrol:

Driving While Impaired: 405


Provisional License Violation: 24


Other Implied Consent Violation: 127


Drug Violations: 57


Drug Paraphernalia: 15


Seatbelt Violations: 1372


Child Restraint Violations: 184


Equipment Violations: 661


Driver License Violation: 1471


Registration Violation: 1208


Other Violations: 4577

Boating Citations Issued: 206


Boating Warnings Issued: 331
