Operation Arrow - Carteret County locates fugitives and serves outstanding warrants

State, federal and local law enforcement and public safety agencies joined forces Thursday in Carteret County for Operation Arrow, seeking wanted fugitives and absconders from probation or parole and conducting searches to ensure compliance of high risk offenders on supervision.

Officers arrested eight absconders, serving a total of 31 warrants on those fugitives. Teams searched 29 residences which resulted in numerous charges against 13 individuals for drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Eighty-three other outstanding warrants were served on nine individuals.

The operation consisted of three teams serving warrants for wanted fugitives and four teams searching the residences of high-risk offenders.  The teams were comprised of officers from the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Carteret County Sheriff’s Department, Morehead City Police Department, Newport Police Department, Cape Carteret Police Department, Atlantic Beach Police Department, Beaufort Police Department, Indian Beach Police Department and Emerald Isle Police Department.  Support was provided by analysts from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and NC ISAAC, North Carolina’s fusion center.
