Precythe named to National Institute of Corrections Advisory Board

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has appointed North Carolina Community Corrections director Anne Precythe to the National Institute of Corrections Advisory Board for a three year term.  Precythe will serve on the advisory board until September 2017.

Precythe has served as the state’s Community Corrections director since March 2013. She oversees a workforce of more than 2,500 probation/parole officers, managers and support staff who the supervise more than 105,000 offenders on probation, parole or post-release supervision.

She previously served as the supervision services administrator in Community Corrections. She also has served as Evidence Based Practices Implementation manager, Interstate Compact administrator and a lead quality assurance analyst.  She started her career in Community Corrections as a probation/parole officer in 1988. A North Carolina native, Precythe earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
