Nov 4, 2015

At approximately 7:45 a.m. on Wed., Nov. 4, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to a head-on collision on Forestville Road just north of Old Milburnie Road in Wake County.

According to investigators, a 2006 Suzuki passenger car driven by Edward Tyler Eason, 16, of 3735 Tarheel Club Road, Raleigh, was traveling north on Forestville Road when he entered a curve and traveled left of center into the path of 2006 Chevrolet Pick-up truck. The Chevrolet pick-up, a Raleigh Public Works vehicle, was operated by Michael Worner, 36, of 275 Wood Green Drive, Wendell. Mr. Worner was transported to Wake Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Mr. Eason died at the scene. Mr. Eason was student at Knightdale High School. It is believed that Mr. Eason was enroute to the high school when the collision occurred.

Speed was a factor in this collision. Investigators estimate that Mr. Eason was traveling approximately 55 miles per hour in a posted 45 mile per hour speed zone when he entered the right hand curve, traveling left of center before striking the pick-up head-on.

No charges will be filed in this case.
