RE: State Fair Traffic Alert


RALEIGH -

Due to expected high traffic volume in and around the State Fairgrounds, the State Highway Patrol will be closing the eastbound and westbound exit ramps leading from Wade Avenue onto Blue Ridge Road beginning Friday, October 23 through Sunday, October 25. The closures will only take affect during the following dates and times:

Friday, October 23rd beginning at approximately 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Saturday, October 24th and Sunday, October 25th beginning at 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.

Please be advised that troopers may occasionally close both the east and westbound exit ramps leading from Wade Avenue to Blue Ridge Road at any time during the fair to expedite traffic.

Motorists will still be allowed to access onto Wade Avenue (in either direction) from Blue Ridge Road.

The public is encouraged to utilize the Edwards Mill Road exit when traveling on Wade Avenue to access the fairgrounds. To assist motorist further, there will be five DOT message boards placed on the main arteries leading to the fairgrounds displaying directional information for fairgoers.
