State Highway Patrol Graduates 30 New Troopers

The State Highway Patrol proudly welcomed 30 new troopers at a graduation ceremony for the 139th basic highway patrol school.  The celebration ended 29 weeks of extensive academic and physical training. 

“We are pleased to graduate 30 new State Troopers today, who are beginning their careers in one of the most challenging yet rewarding careers in society,” said Colonel Bill Grey, commander of the Highway Patrol. “They are a welcome addition to a professional workforce dedicated to protecting and serving the citizens of this great state.”

The ceremony was held at the Colonial Baptist Church in Cary at 10 a.m.  The oath of office was administered by Judge Mark A. Davis, North Carolina Court of Appeals. The cadets report to their respective duty stations on Wednesday, October 19th to begin a rigorous field training program.
