Director, NC Office of Violence Prevention

Siarra Scott, MPH, CHES serves as the Director for the NC Office of Violence Prevention and a member of the department’s senior leadership team. In her current role, Director Scott leads statewide efforts to reduce violence and firearm-related harm through evidence-based, community-centered strategies. Under her leadership, NC OVP launched North Carolina’s first Statewide Community Violence Prevention Strategic Plan.

Director Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She earned her Master of Public Health in Behavioral Science and Health Education from Emory University, along with a certificate in Mental Health. In the Fall of 2025, Director Scott graduated from the University of Chicago Community Violence Leadership Academy.
