Officials with the state Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice, in conjunction with state and local law enforcement officials, today resumed their search for a juvenile who escaped from custody following a court hearing early Tuesday afternoon in Robeson County. The N.C.

The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice reports a juvenile has escaped from the Robeson County Courthouse located at 500 N. Elm Street in Lumberton.

The Hurricane Dorian recovery center on Ocracoke Island will close Thursday at 4 p.m. Residents needing recovery assistance should visit before then to complete an application for a Small Business Administration (SBA) disaster loan.

The Highway Patrol continues to investigate a crash involving a state trooper who was hit by a vehicle on US 1 in Vance County. On Tuesday, October 22 at approximately 7:59 p.m., a 2012 Buick traveled off the roadway and struck the trooper from behind as he was conducting a traffic stop.
