The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice has named Melanie Shelton as the new warden of the Sanford Correctional Center in Sanford.Shelton had been the assistant warden at Harnett Correctional Institution in Lillington.

DURHAM, N.C. – FEMA and the state of North Carolina are announcing more than $18 million to reimburse expenses restoring beaches damaged during Hurricane Florence. 

Six agencies doing significant work to help people recovering from Hurricane Florence will receive grants totaling $2 million to further fund their relief efforts.
