Governor Pat McCrory provided an update on the state’s response to three States of Emergency currently in effect regarding flooding in northeastern North Carolina, civil unrest in Charlotte and the statewide fuel shortage.

Governor Pat McCrory declared a State of Emergency for 11 counties today because of flooding from remnants of Tropical Storm Julia.

Governor Pat McCrory declared a State of Emergency on Wednesday at 11:00 p.m. upon the request of Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Chief Kerr Putney. The governor has also initiated efforts to deploy the North Carolina National Guard and the State Highway Patrol to assist local law enforcement.

Governor Pat McCrory provided an update today on the North Carolina National Guard, State Highway Patrol and other resources deployed to help the city of Charlotte restore order following two nights of unrest.

State and local law enforcement officials have apprehended four juveniles who last night escaped from the Edgecombe Youth Development Center.

The Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice reports that four juveniles are at large following an escape last night from a juvenile facility located in Rocky Mount.

Governor Pat McCrory announced today that Colonial Pipeline has completed construction and positioning of the bypass pipeline in Alabama, but it will still take several days for the fuel delivery supply chain to return to normal in North Carolina.

Governor Pat McCrory today activated North Carolina’s State Emergency Response Team to coordinate with counties regarding fuel needs as Colonial Pipeline officials continue working to fix a damaged pipeline that supplies much of the east coast with petroleum products.
 

The State Emergency Response Team has activated the Joint Information Center in response to the Colonial Pipeline leak in Alabama and its impacts to some parts of the state.

Raleigh – The North Carolina State Highway has released the names of the occupants that died in Saturday’s collision on US74 by-pass near Hamlet, N.C.

Occupants:
