The State Capitol Police is investigating a masked man armed with a handgun and spray paint on the grounds of the State Capitol. At 4:57 a.m. Saturday, State Capitol Police observed a man wearing a full face mask, gloves, heavy clothing and a backpack on the grounds.

Department of Public Safety Secretary Frank L. Perry and State Budget Director Lee Roberts met with Moore County leaders today to highlight the public safety improvements included in Governor Pat McCrory’s Connect NC bond proposal.

Update: Escaped offender Jamie Parrish is back in custody.  He was arrested at about 7:15 this morning by deputies from the Robeson County Sheriffs Office at a WalMart store in Pembroke.
