RALEIGH – The State Highway Patrol along with the North Carolina Department of Transportation conducted a bridge dedication ceremony today in memory of fallen Trooper Bobby Gene Demuth.  The ceremony was held at the Nash County Community College in Rocky Mount.

Governor Pat McCrory is cautioning residents and visitors to closely monitor the weather forecast and to pay careful attention to directions from local officials as the second tropical system in less than a week heads towards North Carolina’s coast.

The Labor Day weekend marks traditional end of summer vacation and many North Carolinians will be traveling and gathering with family and friends.

With the year’s eighth tropical system now forming in the Atlantic, Governor Pat McCrory is reminding coastal residents to stay tuned to local media and keep a close eye on the weather in the coming week.
