Juvenile Apprehended, Returned to Secure Custody

State and local law enforcement officials apprehended a juvenile early Tuesday who failed to return to secure custody at the Edgecombe Youth Development Center following a home visit in Pitt County on Sept. 23.

Local law enforcement officials from the Kinston Police Department took the juvenile, identified as Joel M., back into custody at 12:14 a.m. Tuesday morning in Kinston. Joel M. was returned to secure custody at a Pitt County Juvenile Detention Center. 

Both state and local law enforcement officials from Pitt, Lenoir and surrounding counties have been searching for the youth over the last week.
