WHAT: N.C. Prison Reform Advisory Board Meeting

DATE/TIME: Wednesday, Nov. 14, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

WHERE: Governor’s Crime Commission, Room 100, 1201 Front St., Raleigh

ABOUT: DPS established the Prison Reform Advisory Board, whose members are appointed by the Secretary. The Board predominantly consists of experts in the field of corrections. The members provide ongoing expert advice on best practices related to prison safety and security. The Board also looks at various topics including operations, training, staffing, technology, facility design, and inmate work and program assignments.

Board members will hear about Correction Enterprises, as well as prison safety and security initiatives,  from senior administrators and subject matter experts. There will also be a period of member engagement and feedback.
