ReBuild NC to Host Additional Outreach Events to assist Hurricane Matthew Impacted Homeowners

The ReBuild North Carolina Program has announced additional dates of outreach events, occurring over the coming months, to assist homeowners who sustained damage from Hurricane Matthew complete their program application for recovery aid.

ReBuild NC, North Carolina’s Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery program, provides funding to applicants for housing repairs, homeowner reimbursement for work that homeowners have already completed on their own and other housing-related issues due to damage from Hurricane Matthew. The ReBuild NC program is the primary opportunity for individuals impacted by Hurricane Matthew to receive federal funding for long-term housing recovery.

All impacted individuals, regardless of where they are in the recovery process, are strongly encouraged to dial 2-1-1 to make an appointment and complete an application at a scheduled outreach event or one of the program’s application centers.

During a scheduled appointment, application specialists are available to assist individuals with completing and submitting a program application. 

Individuals who experienced damage during Hurricane Matthew, and were impacted again by Hurricane Florence, may still be eligible to receive assistance for Matthew damages through ReBuild NC.  In order to qualify for Community Development Block Grant –Disaster Recovery assistance through ReBuild NC at this time, the home must have been damaged by Hurricane Matthew in 2016.
